The Ducay-Tanguin Commercial Building, situated in a highly sought-after location in San Francisco, General Trias, Cavite, underwent a transformation from a single-story establishment to a three-story commercial building with a roof deck. Our team was entrusted with the task of ensuring the structural integrity of the building, which we achieved through the implementation of a steel framing design for the upper floors. This design not only enhances the building's safety and flexibility, but also offers cost-effectiveness, while maintaining a lightweight structure that does not overload the existing columns.

The original structure, which solely accommodated hardware operations, only had a ground floor. The owner resolved to transform the building into a commercial complex to optimize its profitability.
However, this undertaking encountered a challenge as the existing foundation proved to be inadequate for the addition of concrete columns. To address this concern, the decision was made to employ steel framing for the planned extension. I-beam columns were selected due to their lightweight properties in comparison to concrete.
